What is ExploraVision?
ExploraVision is a science competition that encourages teachers to make science a part of their
curriculum. As a teacher sponsor, you will lead your students as they work in groups of 2 – 4 to
simulate real research and development. You will guide your students as they study a
technology of interest and predict what that technology might be like 20 years from now. Teams
will explore what is necessary to make their visions a reality. Past winners have envisioned
technologies ranging from a self-cleaning toilet to a new method of treating diabetes.

Entries are Due in February.  Click here for more information or to register
Parents in Partnership (PIP)

The Parents In Partnership program (PIP) is a four- or five-part leadership opportunity for parents,
foster parents, or other care givers who have children, 6-14 years old, or youth 13-21 years old with
special needs. Parents will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, support networks, and
positive parent-professional partnerships. You will meet with parents, educators, state agency
personnel, and other statewide leaders over the course of these five sessions. You will also have time
to share your own stories, obtain useful information, and strengthen skills that will enable you to
communicate more effectively with educational, medical, and human service providers.

Available Oct-March.  Click here for more details.

Arts Day schedule
Arts Day 2012 details

Wisconsinites from the worlds of the arts, business, education, civic issues, politics, and government
will meet and rally with Wisconsin’s political leadership at Arts Day 2012, taking place on Wednesday,
March 14, 2012, at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center and the State Capitol in
downtown Madison.

This is a critical moment for Wisconsin to support new investment in creativity, innovation, imagination
and entrepreneurship.  New pathways are needed to move the state’s economy, educational systems,
and civic infrastructure forward.    That’s where the arts come in.

People who care about Wisconsin’s future must speak up to make sure that elected officials and civic
leaders know that the arts are part of the solution. The evidence is clear: participation and
involvement in the arts, arts education and creative economy are important to the people of
Wisconsin. The arts are essential to Wisconsin's cultural and spiritual quality of life, to our economic
development, and to the education of our children. Investment in Wisconsin’s arts and creative sector
is all about investment in good jobs, good education, and livable communities, and is directly tied to
helping the state and all of its communities thrive.
