Lands' End To Give Back $1 Million To Schools In 2010
Million Dollar Difference - Get Your Share
Beginning March 1, 2010, through March 31, 2010, every school in the United States is invited to enter the Double the Difference sweepstakes by completing the entry form at : www.landsend.com/difference
Write a brief explanation of how you plan to use their fundraising dollars. Four winning schools will be randomly selected from all submitted entries to double their fundraising efforts up to $1,500 per school. Winners will be selected and announced on or about April 12, 2010.

Wisconsin Schools Need our Help!
As a result of Wisconsin's flawed school funding system, the amount of money going to our schools has not matched the rising cost of quality education.
As a result, communities around the state have been forced to lay off staff, increase class sizes, cut programs and services, and increase their reliance on already overburdened property taxpayers. This crisis situation was made even worse when the state government decided to cut aid to public schools.
Now it is our turn to step forward. Pennies for Kids is all it will take to provide for our children and maintain the high quality of life that our communities deserve.
Sign the "Penny for Kids" petition to tell Wisconsin legislators that our schools need their attention now and a penny for kids sales tax is a good way to start.

Get a FREE Ticket to Disneyland!
Disney is getting close to their goal of inspiring one million people to volunteer a day of service. So sign up to make a difference today! Just search for an eligible opportunity, complete the registration form and confirm a specific date and time to volunteer at a participating organization through this site. Each person who participates in this program will receive a 1-day, 1-theme park ticket to Disneyland? Resort or Walt Disney World? Resort, free!
There are two opportunities associated with this program:
1. PTAs can apply to have their event/activity listed on the Disney Day program website as a volunteer opportunity to create awareness and help recruit volunteers. Simply complete the online application at: http://vop.handsonnetwork.org
2. An individual or family can register to volunteer at one of the opportunities listed on the Disney Day program website.
This program runs through December 15, 2010 or until the vouchers run out whichever comes first. Only one voucher is given per person even if you volunteer more than once. A family that volunteers together can receive no more than 9 total vouchers.

 OMDRplus Notice!!!!!
After careful consideration, the Wisconsin PTA Board of Directors has decided that our units ARE NOT REQUIRED TO USE THE OMDRplus to report their membership. Units may choose to continue to use the OMDRplus system, powered by Just Between Friends if desired. (Technical support will continue to be given by Just Between Friends) Our decision has not come lightly, but due to the fact that many of you have experienced difficulty and/or issues with the system, we are leaving the option up to you.
However, we do require a list of your membership to accompany your membership remittance forms. If you are choosing not to use the OMDRplus system we are recommending you track your membership in a Word or Excel document and you may find a template for membership cards on the Membership page of the Members Only section.

 100 YEARS!

Wisconsin PTA 100th Celebration outreach is vital to the future of the Wisconsin PTA. This celebration allows us to reminisce about all of our past accomplishments and how important the volunteers of our state made all of that possible. It also gives us a chance to imagine all that is still to be done by the volunteers of the future. Thank you for supporting these efforts.

PTA Aims to Keep All Children Healthy Throughout the School Year!
Join Us. Let's Fight Flu Together!
The Let's Fight Flu Together! program is an on-site influenza vaccination clinic that your PTA can host in your school or a community center during the September January influenza vaccination season. By registering for your clinic now, your PTA can select a date that works best for your school and community. Consider hosting an influenza vaccination clinic at a fall family night, football game, report card pick up, or other school activity.
Influenza vaccines will cost $25 per pre-registered vaccine and $27 for each vaccine paid for on site. Flu Mist* will be available for $30 and must be pre-registered. $1 per vaccine is donated back to your PTA to use for additional health and wellness programming**.
